AddressVerify — Privacy Policy

AddressVerify detects and helps correct missing, swapped, or mistyped Turkish province/district (il/ilçe) information on order shipping addresses. This policy explains what data is processed and how it is protected.

Data we process (Protected Customer Data)

AddressVerify reads an order’s shipping address (and the name and phone that are part of that address) to check it against Turkey’s official province/district data and, with confirmation, correct it via Shopify’s order update. This is the only customer data we touch.

How we protect it

• We persist no address, name, or phone in our database — only the order reference, a status, and machine-readable issue codes.
• Personal data is never written to application logs.
• Corrections are transparent and reversible; automatic correction is off by default and merchant-controlled.
• Minimum scopes only (read/write orders); we do not request geolocation, IP, browser, staff, or unrelated customer data.

GDPR / data requests

AddressVerify implements Shopify’s mandatory compliance webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact,shop/redact). Since no customer address/name/phone is stored, there is nothing to disclose or erase beyond removing our order-reference records; shop/redact removes the shop’s data on uninstall.

Data sharing

We do not sell or share any data with third parties.
